Join us for a lifetime Mountainbike experience at Troodos Mountainous range in the heart of Cyprus. The Troodos Traverse MTB & wine route takes you on a trip across Cyprus Mountains from east to west, using carefully selected forest roads and single trails, with long climbs and thrilling descents, breathtaking scenery and challenging terrain along the whole route.
Remote places, tiny villages, small wineries, old churches and chapels will be adding to your Cyprus tradition and country life experience. Not long into the tour, you will start feeling the warmth and the welcoming spirit of the locals in the Cyprus countryside.
This 250km long Mountaibike tour takes you through some of the most authentic places in Cyprus, the Troodos villages, the famous Venetian bridges, abandoned or remote villages where you can witness how the locals enjoy an alternative lifestyle in tranquility and harmony with nature and through the unspoilt beauty of the Akamas Peninsula.
The terrain of this tour is a varied mix of long climbs, single-trails, long descents and short flat sections. We will, mainly, be riding on soil and rocky terrain that never gets muddy and has great traction in the fast sections.
Who can ride this MTB experience
The route of "The Troodos Traverse" is been designed in a such a way that it can be suited to hard-core mountainbikers as well as mountainbike enthusiasts! The distances, the ascents together with the technical sections can be customized to your group level and yet keep a high standard of experience. The length of the whole route can be split in 4 to 6 days according to your group and level of fitness. The accommodation, the wineries and the tavernas remain as part of the route and a main, off the bike, attraction.
Small, family owned wineries are spread throughout the route of the Troodos Traverse. During our rides, we will be stopping in selected prestigious wineries to taste some of the best local wines including the oldest named wine in the world, the Commandaria, which is produced exclusively in Cyprus and dates back to the ancient Greeks time. Legend has it that it was served at the wedding of King Richard the Lionheart to Berengaria of Navarre!
Our itinerary will also include culinary excursions to taste various local dishes, which will vary depending on the area and the time of the year. Fresh vegetable, local herbs and spices are used to enrich the taste of the exquisite Cyprus cuisine. Meze dishes, Ttavas, Afelia, Mousakas, Souvlaki, Ofto, Koupepia are some of the dishes that will be put the icing on the cake of your Cyprus MTB experience!
We know how important is to keep enjoying the trip when finally you are at the end of a biking day. That is why we try keep a great atmosphere by selecting the accommodation along the route that will fulfill or even exeed your expectations. Accommodation is included in this package and it is mainly in traditional houses or small village hotels with quite and warm atmosphere.

Mountainbiking is a great way to explore authentic Cyprus. Our local guides will be sharing stories of how Cyprus has been through the years, will guide you to the most interesting points of interest along the route! We are sure you will feel the Cyprus culture and learn Cyprus history from the first day on the bike.
High-end full suspension and hard-tail bikes are available to rent for the duration of the tour.
